Candle & Product Care
A little care goes a long way. Here is how to look after each format, and how to use it safely.
Candles
-
Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each lighting.
-
On the first burn, let the wax melt all the way across the top of the jar.
-
Burn for no more than four hours at a time.
-
Use a heat-safe surface, away from drafts, children, pets, and anything flammable.
-
Never leave a burning candle unattended, and put it out before you sleep.
-
Put the lid back on once the candle has cooled.
How long a candle lasts
-
4 oz, one wick: about 20-25 hours
-
10 oz, two wicks (Black Matte or Clear Tumbler): about 40-50 hours
-
16 oz amber, two wicks: about 65-70 hours
-
18 oz, three wicks: about 80 hours
-
26 oz, two wicks: about 120 hours
-
Reed diffusers
Place the reeds in the bottle and let them draw up the fragrance. Flip them carefully every week or two: more often for a stronger scent, less often to make it last. Keep diffuser oil away from children, pets, fabric, finished surfaces, direct sunlight, and heat.
-
Room and linen sprays
Shake well, hold the bottle 8 to 10 inches away, and mist lightly. Keep it off finished wood, delicate fabrics, and skin. Try a hidden spot first on fabric you are unsure about.
-
Wax melts
Put one or two cubes in the dish of an electric or tealight warmer and let them melt fully. Let the wax cool and set before you lift it out or change scents. Never leave a lit warmer unattended.
-
Car diffusers
Set it up while parked, following the directions in the box, then clip the diffuser to a vent where it will not block your view or controls. Keep it away from children, pets, and finished surfaces.
